While the safety of our own health and that of others is currently the most important thing during this time, it still stings a bit when a festival announces that it is postponing till 2021. The upcoming New Years’ Eve festival, Zamna, is the latest to fall victim.
“It breaks our hearts to give this news. We’ve worked very hard this 2020, invested a lot of effort and dedication, we’ve endured stress, financial pressure and uncertainty. But after evaluating the current situation, we are forced to move our festival to April 2021.”
Located in Tulum, the festival is a destination for those looking to hear some of the most sought after artists and to celebrate the new year. Many are also drawn to the location for its venue and overall positive vibes that come with it. On the lineup for this year was Boris Brejcha and Diplo.
However, attendees were a little shocked that the festival is not offering refunds. Technically, each person’s ticket is valid for the rescheduled dates in April. Notice how dates is plural. For most of April 2021, various artists will be coming to visit Tulum to play. The artists include Claptone on April 4th, Renaissance (Artbat, Luciano, and Sasha b2b Hernan Cattaneo). Lastly, Boris and friends will be on the 25th. If the individual is unable to attend those events, they will have a credit that is valid until Winter of 2022.
Of course, many are frustrated with the fact of not being able to get their money back, and rightfully so. When Ultra 2020 was postponed, the festival also stated they were not refunding attendees’ money. Ultra was faced with much backlash and many are even concerned with 2021 not happening.
