Some good news for freedom lovers and also people hoping to enjoy some music festivals like Tomorrowland this Summer. Today a judge in Brussels has ruled that the Belgian government must withdraw all covid lockdown measures within 30 days. These lockdowns, of course, are a big part of why Tomorrowland’s fate remained uncertain.

The Court found that the restrictions had no legal basis, and gave the government 30 days to provide a sound legal basis for restrictions to continue or withdraw the lockdowns. Minister of the Interior Annelies Verlinden has decided to appeal the ruling and says the lockdowns will continue. However, the appeal does not nullify the judgment. At this point the government is evaluating its options.

This comes on the heels of news that France will enter a new round of lockdowns for the entire month of April beginning next Saturday. People there will be confined to 10KM from their homes and there will be a 7pm curfew.

Meanwhile, Florida and Texas prepare for the return of music festivals in April. We know where we’d rather be!
