“Hey Alexa, please buy me the new Echo Buds.” Amazon’s newly dropped Echo Buds come with a sweet deal. The second generation of these discreet headphones will be bundled with 6 months of Amazon Music Unlimited. The Alexa-enabled pods are currently on pre-sale for $119. Amazon is continuing to make a footprint in the music industry and clearly attempting to take some market share away from both Apple and Spotify. They will be available in two colors – Black and Glacier White. They will officially be released on May 13th.
The Echo Buds come with some enhanced features and a more comfortable fit. They have a battery life of 5 hours during playback and 15 hours total. A quick 15-minute charge will get you 2 hours of battery life. Amazon has stated that your ears will hear more dynamic ranges than with the originals. Alexa will now be with you every step of the way while canceling out any noises you may hear. Did I mention they are 21% smaller as well.
It should be noted that although these sleek echo pods are cheaper than their competitors – Apple, Samsung, and Bose – the features that come with them are also less. It has a slower quick charge, total charge, and lower IBX (waterproof) rating. An advantage however is they are more customizable with their 4 sizes of ear tips.
