One of Canada‘s biggest festivals should be back this year. The team behind Escapade Music Festival (EMF) released a statement regarding the event for 2021. For the moment, the festival is slated to take place September 3-5 in Ottawa, Ontario. Surely there is no certainty in the world we live in right now – but if the trend continues, Canada will be able to enjoy a big festival for the first time in more than a year.
Right now, the COVID situation in Ontario is relatively stable compared to other parts of the world. As a matter of fact, the government is moving into step 3 of its plan to ease COVID restrictions. EMF’s organizers were extremely happy to announce that they will be able to “produce some form of Escapade on Sept 3-5 weekend”. Obviously, safety is the top priority here, but this news is very exciting.
In the statement, EMF’s organizers also detailed some of the health guidelines that will be in place for the event. In fact, they confirmed that there will be vaccination requirements to attend the 2021 edition. Ticketholders who are fully vaccinated prior to the festival will be able to enter with no further steps needed. Organizers will continue to follow the public health guidelines for the event. However, if attendees are not able to receive a vaccine for medical reasons, they have to provide a negative COVID test result within 24 hours of the start of the event to enter.
For those of you who already have tickets and don’t want to attend EMF this year, there is still the possibility to get a refund or to transfer your tickets for next year. More details will come over the coming days for the process.
