Spotify has finally taken its new feature, out of beta to promote (in their words) Social Listening Sessions. ‘Blend’ is a feature that will allow you to merge your musical algorithms with that of your friends. It creates a playlist, specific to both of your tastes.
‘Blend’ updates daily and can be personalized further and has collaborative playlist functionality. Spotify was quoted saying:
It is a new way for two friends to merge their musical tastes into one curated playlist made just for them, making it even easier for users to connect, discover, and share the music they love with one another.
To access the feature, simply go into the ‘Made For You’ section and click ‘Create Blend’. Then invite the person you want to blend music with. Once your friend accepts the invitation you will be able to enjoy each other’s tunes, as well as see where you overlap. The playlists will even tell you how well you match with the person you are blending with.
