Costa Rica-based Horyzon Festival (an offshoot of Tulum’s Zamna) just announced that they will have to cancel their 2022 edition. The festival was going to take place this weekend January 14, 15 & 16, of 2022 in Golfo de Papagayo – Guanacaste in Costa Rica.

The Zamna Music project fell victim to the ongoing Omicron wave in various places worldwide, including Costa Rica. The local government decided to impose a closing time of sports and nightlife venues starting at 10 pm. Thus making it impossible for the festival to go forward.

Many festivals faced or are at risk of facing the same faith. 2022 is starting like the past 2 years, with a lot of uncertainty. Many countries worldwide are still deep into the Omicron wave. In addition, and with all the ongoing wave restrictions are back in many continents worldwide such as Europe. We can only cross our fingers and hope to see the scene going back to normal as soon as possible.

Horyzon Festival had a huge lineup for its 2022 edition with Ciricoloco on Friday, the very awaited After Life show on Saturday, and a closing-worthy Renaissance show on its last day.

Ticket holders will be contacted by the festival for refund procedures. No replacement date was announced at the point of writing this article.
