DJ Mag Announces Top 100 Clubs of 2022

It’s that time of year again. DJ Mag’s highly anticipated Top 100 Clubs list for 2022 was released today. Top 100 typically runs from December-April, but DJ Mag delayed the timeline due to the impact of the pandemic. Over 600,000 verified people participated in the process and for the first time since 2009, every club-bearing continent on the planet is represented in the poll. Hï Ibiza has been voted the World’s No.1 Club this year, and last year’s winner, Washington, DC’s Echostage, slips down to No.2.

The list is primarily dominated by Europe (with 49 clubs on the list, the same as last year). 22 European clubs gained places, and 15 dropped down. In Asia, China loses five clubs from the poll this year, bringing its total to seven, while Asia as a whole is down six spots overall, and only gained one new venue — Nepal’s Lord Of The Drinks (otherwise known as LOD). Kenya’s MUZE returns for the second year running and Sydney favourite, Chinese Laundry re-enters the poll after missing out the past two years.

On the other side of the world, the USA takes back the title of No.1 clubbing country from the UK, clocking an impressive total of 16 clubs in this year’s list (up from 13 in 2021). And despite extended lockdown measures, Canada is also on the incline this year, as Montréal hotspot Stereo rejoins the poll for the first time since 2019. In South America, five clubs lost places as opposed to four gaining. However, the addition of the new Surreal Park venue in Brazil evens out the scales, boosting the region’s overall number of ranked clubs into double digits.
