Justin Bieber – I’ll Show You
Justin Bieber’s fourth studio album, Purpose, is scheduled to drop in just eleven days and to celebrate, the Canadian superstar released another single.
“I’ll Show You” is the third of four songs that features Skrillex on production duties (the other ones being “Sorry”, “Where Are Ãœ Now”, and the unreleased “Children”). The song takes a slower pace with a much more somber tone in comparison to other songs released by the pair. Lyrically, the song is very reflective, as it looks back at Bieber’s well-documented career.
The music video is contemplative, featuring Bieber running through mountains, skateboarding on highways, rolling down hills and showing off his Calvin Klein’s in frigid arctic water. There’s no real story to the video, but hey, it has some pretty landscapes and Bieber looks to be enjoying this comeback process.
Skrillex’s presence in the song comes in the form of his super crisp production quality and vocal modulation techniques. Making a melody out of pitched up vocal samples is nothing new these days, but Skrillex has always had a good talent for the method. This one is not particularly inventive, but it flows well with the percussion and does not overpower Bieber’s vocals.
