About a year ago, Pilchner Schoustal International Inc. completely converted deadmau5‘s bedroom to a recording and sound studio, a gorgeous room full of producing instruments, more than the essentials bedroom producers could hope for, as well as a fully calibrated 11.3 Dolby Atmos system.

And now, the technology seems to have impacted his creativity in the best way possible.

Just one day prior to releasing his album ‘stuff i used to do‘, Joel shared a short video on Instagram in which he experiments with Dolby Atmos system and gives Fn Pig a deeper, balanced and harmonious effect as fans become infatuated with it.

It will be interesting to see whether deadmau5 will implement any Atmos setup in his next shows and music productions or how the future in immersive surround unfolds…

We’ve seen countless in-progress pictures, and photos taken prior to the start of the renovation project, but Martin Pilchner of Pilchner Schoustal International Inc. has finally revealed to us the completed state of deadmau5‘s new production studio. And well, the mau5trap looks nothing short of astonishing.

The imposing amount of production equipment tastefully juxtapositioned with the modern, yet warm architectural design choices really create a sense of marvel in this writer.

“The room boundaries are designed with controlled reflection geometry and also integrate a custom made racking system designed to accommodate the synthesizer collection with integrated cable management and power solution. In addition to the main monitors, the room also incorporates a 5.1 and 7.1 mid field surround system as well as a fully calibrated 11.3 Dolby Atmos system.”

Even more impressive is the amount of careful thought and detail that went into creating the portions of this studio that you cannot see:

“All studio spaces are built on dedicated floating floors and integrate a very extensive cable troughing system which physically connects every space in the studio including all side wall racking systems.”

Originally the master bedroom of Joel’s Campbellville estate, now features an isolation booth as well as a dedicated machine room. You can read more about the details of Joel’s new creative space, or about other equally as impressive Pilchner Schoustal Int. projects.
