Our favorite full-time production wizard and part-time Twitter troll Deadmau5 has once again proven himself as a true tastemaker with his new BBC Radio 1 residency, which is off to a glorious start with the release of his latest mix. The first few editions of Joel Zimmerman’s Radio One residency – which happen every first Thursday of the month – have been nothing short of spectacular, with hordes of listeners tuning in from around the globe.
The April mix marks his 3rd one for the radio station and it definitely doesn’t disappoint, as Joel has puts on a clinic of house and techno goodness that will satisfy even the snobbiest of music listeners with highly addictive beats and powerful pulsating bass lines. Included in his mix are some of the best of the best such as Shiba San, Eelke Kleijn and even artists signed to his Mau5trap label like Attlas and No Mana, among many others. Deadmau5’s BBC Radio 1 residency had lofty expectations when first announced – expectations which Joel has managed to meet with ease.
