No Mana feat. Jessica Ess – Panic
mau5trap protege No Mana has returned this time making his debut on Anjunabeats with a blistering anthem in ‘Panic’. I’ve been hooked on No Mana ever since his Above The Blue EP back in 2017 & ‘Less than Three’ has been a staple in my daily playlist ever since.
We’ve seen No Mana release various Ep’s on mau5trap via his Level UP series. But for this outing, he turns to Anjunabeats, and rather fittingly mind you. I’ve always thought No Mana would slot nicely into the Anjuna roster & ‘Panic’ proves just that.
‘Panic’ is a blissful combination of progressive & soft trance elements. You can clearly hear No Mana’s signature arp patches but with a more trance-y flavour attached to him. His sound is instantly recognizable but it feels super fresh. Couple that with Jessica Ess’s beautiful vocals and you have an amazing feel-good anthem. While for some this may be a bit less ‘hard-hitting’ but worry not the Genix (Yes THAT Genix) remix makes up for that.
Genix flips ‘Panic’ into a version that is certified dance floor ready while still retaining the flair of the original. Blue Mora, on the other hand, takes ‘Panic’ and flips into an even more stripped down, atmospheric and worldly sounding track. The way Blue Mora structures the whole remix by centring it around the vocal is just stunning. For me, the Blue Mora remix may even be *coughs* better than the original.Â
