Since 2014, Insomniac has created one of the most entertaining ways to celebrate the New Year. Countdown NYE has been a memorable festival for many Insomniac headliners for quite some time, but this year was truly the best one yet.

While heading into the new decade, Insomniac filled the NOS Event Center in San Bernardino with thousands of fans. Countdown’s production exceeded the bar compared to previous years; with alien-themed decor, numerous LED-screen decorations, and countless disco balls surrounding the event, the production was completely out of this world.

Performance Highlights

Countdown NYE also had an insane line up to kick 2020 off to the right start. The festival had various stars such as Porter Robinson, Alesso, SVDDEN DEATH, and more attend the event.

We were truly blown away with Porter Robinson’s set as he dropped ‘Language‘ right when the clock struck midnight. It was such a magical moment as new and old ravers were left completely stunned. Porter Robinson truly never disappoints with his euphoric performances. If you were there, you can feel how amazing the energy was during the set. When Porter played ‘Language’ at midnight, I felt like the crowd was relieved the 2019 was officially over and we were heading into the new year with such an amazing song.

Dr. Fresch honestly had one of the best sets of the night. His set was relatively on the darker side, blanketed with g-house tunes. He played never-before-heard edits that we’re now dying to have released. As the disco balls were shinning throughout the entire crowd, he absolutely killed it during his performance. He even tweeted before that Countdown was going to be one of his best performances and it totally was!

Dombresky closed out at the house stage, and it was the perfect way to end the departing night. There’s always something about ending the festival with house that always leaves me feeling uplifted. The artist played some of his classics, while having a mixture of dark and uplifting beats. With the disco ball illuminating from all the production’s lasers, it was definitely a sight to see. Dombresky ended his set with soulful melodies, leading us to believe that the new year will be as beautiful as the music we heard.

All in all, we had so much fun at Countdown NYE and it was such an amazing way to ring in the New Year. Insomniac absolutely killed it with this event and we cannot wait for next year! This festival was the perfect kick start to show off new music heading into 2020! We have a HUGE decade ahead of us and there will be lots of new music. We can’t wait!
