The future house movement is alive and kicking, as we begin the New Year, and Oliver Heldens is at the forefront. Perhaps it’s the beard, but it’s sometimes hard to remember that the kid is still only 19, given his massive success and veteran quality productions. Following up his impressive 2014 will be difficult, but it appears he is up for the challenge with the announcement of his most surprising collaboration to date. Teaming up with Canadian dubstep duo Zeds Dead, Heldens is starting 2015 on the right foot with the preview of ‘You Know’.
‘You Know’ leans much more towards Heldens’ future house sound than the heavier dubstep sound of Zeds Dead, and we are not complaining. Featuring funky deep house high hats and a melody anybody can get down to, ‘You Know’ is primed to be a huge success. The curious part about this tune is where Zeds Dead fits in. This could easily pass as a Heldens solo tune if no names were attached. Perhaps the full release will reveal the answer to that question. Heldens tweeted earlier today that ‘You Know’ will be released by Spinnin’ Records on February 2nd.
