MOTi‘s been hot so far this year in dishing out effective festival hits such as “NaNaNa” with Alvaro, “Back to the Acid” with the one and only Tiesto and more recently, “Dynamite” with Quintino. The man from Netherlands proves that he is not only good at producing heavier sounds but also has a softer and progressive element to his game as he remixes and transforms the dance alternative/folktronica effort of Crystal Fighters‘ “Wave” into a catchy progressive tune. There’s always been a trend in producers remixing alternative work and certainly, this has been bearing fruit as progressive chords and alternative vocals seem to always find this nice balance and symmetry (another recent favorite of a similar style would include Dzeko & Torres’ remix of Twenty One Pilots’ “Guns For Hands”). MOTi’s remix of “Wave” has already received support from Thomas Gold, Hardwell and Quintino and was just played by Tiesto in his Diplo & Friends guest mix. This remix will be released on Atlantic Records but the release date is still TBA. You can get a feel of this progressive tune in the three and a half minute unofficial preview below.
