DJ Hanzel and Drezo have been making quite a stir in the electronic music world. In the past month, the two have officially released their first collaboration together, a remix of Dillon Francis and NGHTMRE’s “Need You”, sold another unreleased collaboration of theirs on Ebay for $11,400 to benefit VH1’s Save The Music Foundation, and to top it all off, the deep duo just went back to back at Mixmag’s Lab in Los Angeles for an hour-and-a-half.
Although this was the first appearance for either of the DJs In The Lab, it is not the first time they have done a back-to-back set together; their comfort with each other on stage was clear. The two moved the crowd to their minimal, kick drum-driven tunes with ease.
The two opened their set with the unreleased collaboration, “Anxiety” and quickly after that, followed up with Dr. Fresch & BIJOU’s collaboration “Hello“. Plenty of Drezo remixes and originals were included in this set as well, including his “Bassline” remix smashing into his “Forgot About Dre” remix, a classic mashup played by the up-and-comer at most of his shows.
Listen to the set and decide for yourself, did it go “One Deeper”?
