Promising young house producer Rinzen has just put out his first release, an official remix of Giorgio Moroder’s 2016 hit record, “Good To Me”. It’s quite an achievement for the young LA native Michael Sundius, to be commissioned to remix one of dance music’s most iconic figures, and his take certainly does not disappoint. Rinzen’s remix of “Good To Me” is decisively more stripped back than the original tune, featuring a darker, brooding, yet frantic disco-tinged bass line that wraps around the track delicately.
Moroder gave some insight about how this remix came to be on his FB page. Apparently, he first met Rinzen back in 2013, who had reached out to interview the Italian house legend at HARD’s Day of the Dead Festival. Read the inspirational story that lead to the track’s existence, in Moroder’s own words below:
“Have you listened to the “Good for me” remixes yet? You should. Listen to them to enjoy the music, but also listen to them for a bit of inspiration. I want to tell you a story about how one of the remixes came to be. Exactly a year ago, my management saw a screenshot of a fb post, where a young man used my picture and a memory surrounding myself to announce starting a new job (the same screenshot attached to this post). Seeing how passionate this young writer was about his job and my career, she reached out to him to get to know him. They stayed in touch, got lunches, and she learned that he was an aspiring producer as well. One day he was confident enough to send her his work, she listened, gave feedback, and that was that. Many months passed, and I released Good For Me. feat Karen Harding on Casablanca Records My management was working with the label A&R to find the best remixer for the track, and remembering this young writer, Jen reached out to Rinzen to see if he would give this a try. This remix ended up being my favorite, and everyone liked it so much BPM couldn’t even wait until the release to play it on the radio. This is Rinzen’s first official release, and I am so honored to be a part of it. You may not even know it, but with each step, decision, and action you take, you are manifesting your own destiny. Would I ever have thought this bright eyed journalist, who i met in 2013 would produce a song I love as much as my own many years later? Definitely not. But I am so happy that the universe worked the way that it did. So mix things up. Take a chance. Express your feelings. Be true to yourself. and of course, let me know what you think of the remixes. Inspiration comes in all shapes and forms, and as much as I know i have inspired Michael (Rinzen), he now inspires me. And here, three years later, we were able to meet again”
