Samsung teases the upcoming Galaxy Note 8 with the phrase “Do Bigger Things” as invites for the reveal event go out.

Do Bigger Things teaser for the Note 8

The South Korean company will unveil what bigger things the new phone promises at its Unpacked event on August 23. As of now, the rumors are a 6.3-inch Infinity Display that the Galaxy S8 has, dual rear cameras, 6GB of RAM, and a smaller battery. A previous leak suggested that there would be no bezels on the large screen phone. Render images obtained by Engadget say there are almost no bezels. Some other features that might come with the phone include an iris scanner, LED and light sensors above the screen, while the dual-camera system will have an LED flash that doubles as a heart rate monitor and a fingerprint sensor.

After the fiasco with the Note 7, Samsung has opted to use a 3,300 mAh battery pack in the upcoming device. A small step down from the 3,500 mAh battery that came with the Note 7, the change should help avoid issues of overheating and prevent explosions.

Despite safety concerns about the Note 7 batteries that even led to the phone being banned on flights, Samsung phones are still widely popular. In fact, the Note 7 had good reviews until the battery flaws became a headline topic so expectations for the Note 8 features are being set high.

After the fiasco with its predecessor, if the Note 8 is able to deliver what it promises, it can help consumers look away from Samsung’s previous failure.
