Oliver Heldens Joins BBC Radio Essential Mix as HI-LO

BBC Radio 1 has hosted just about every major and underground electronic act over the years. Oliver Heldens fits into both the major and underground categories due to his alter-ego HI-LO, and he has taken his underground act to BBC’s decks for a special HI-LO Essential Mix.

Heldens’ side project is described as “the more bassline driven side of Oliver Heldens,” fit for dimly lit clubs and warehouses, certainly different than the sound that took Heldens’ name to the top of the industry. His breakout hit “Gecko” was released on Tiesto’s label Musical Freedom in 2014; since then he has been able to explore more experimental sounds, and those sounds are revealed front and center in this HI-LO Essential Mix.
