Focusing on the concepts of change and the frustration of being static in one spot, Monolink releases the cinematic narrative to accompany his lo-fi single “Swallow“. Taking the viewer on a journey that follows a mysterious main character, the video does little to convey its story and meaning.
With her head dyed a vibrant red, we see as the main character gets lost in the process and rush of change, encountering different versions of herself. At the end, the female lead finds herself in the ocean, letting go and allowing the scenery to consumer her. Similar to “Swallow” the visual pairs with the song’s building tensions and floating melodies. As both carry a nostalgic and delicate quality, the track and video pair effortlessly together.
