2019 is already a difficult year for Ultra Music Festival. EDMTunes is continuing to cover Ultra’s move to Virginia Beach for next year’s event. And although the 2019 edition of UMF is still recovering from hurdles placed in it’s path, it’s about time for a lineup announcement! As of today we know a few of the biggest artists playing Ultra next year thanks to a YouTube video uploaded by the festival.
Big name mainstays are of course included on the lineup. Armin van Buuren, Carl Cox, Griz and Illenium represent some of the most recognizable names in the electronic music world. More mainstream stars including Odesza, The Chainsmokers and Marshmello also made the cut. But the real gems in this announcement are the ones that are less expected.
The first shell-shocking announcement is the worldwide premiere of Deadmau5‘s Cube 3.0. For anyone who has seen the Mau5trap head’s visual show before, you know fans are in for a treat. Right after the Mau5 news Ultra reveals a Dubfire B3B with Nicole Moudaber and Paco Osuna. And if that isn’t enough to make you drool how about a Sasha and Digweed set to top it all off!
We also got a little insight into the new layout as Ultra disclosed that RESISTANCE will be making getting “its very own island” at the Virginia Key Beach Park. Ultra promises the techno brand will be taking on its largest role ever within the festival. So it sounds like RESISTANCE (and ASOT) at Virginia Key Beach and everything else will be at the Miami Marine Stadium lot.
There will undoubtedly be many more joining Ultra’s ranks as we approach the end of March. You can watch the entire phase 1 announcement video below. Leave us a comment and let us know which artists you’re most excited to see at Ultra 2019!
