Bayfront Park, the iconic home of Ultra Music Festival, is like the mothership to many festival goers. However, it is not the most environmentally friendly space. For this reason, Bayfront Park is getting a brand new makeover.
As reported on CBS Miami, Florida Power & Light is installing more than 500 solar panels in the venue. These panels are going to generate power for events. CBS reports that the panels will have more power than needed for an average concert. This means that Ultra Music Festival will be able to contribute more to their Mission: Home campaign.
Apart from the hundreds of solar panels, Bayfront Park will double as a research site. The instillation will test a new kind of solar technology that can harness power on both sides of the panel. Also, there will be a canopy structure and solar trees planted throughout. This all stems from a partnership among Florida Power & Light, Bayfront Trust Management, and the city of Miami.
