2022 could be the comeback year for Ibiza and its nightlife scene.
José Luis BenÃtez, manager of Ocio de Ibiza said the reopening of nightclubs will take place “at the end of April, two weeks ahead of what is normally done”.
Benitez hopes the nightclubs stay open until October or November “if all goes well”. He states the island’s nightlife enterprises are “actively working this winter to prepare for the season”.
According to Diario de Ibiza, 2020 saw the White Isle lose $2,600 million in visitor expenditure in 2020 and $1,300 million in 2021 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
However, the island eased the restrictions on night-time social events in September last year. The announcement of upcoming events create fresh hope for the visitors wanting to travel there.
