Now fast approaching its impressive 11th year, California’s premier camping, arts, music and yoga festival, The Do Lab‘s Lightning In A Bottle, is returning to its home at San Antonio Recreation Area in Bradley, California this Memorial Day Weekend for another electric installment of creativity, inspiration and community. Along with its stellar lineup, including Australia’s electronic neo-soul singer-songwriter Chet Faker, Canadian producer and savant songstress Grimes, English post-rock electronic artist Four Tet, the amazing Norwegian producer/DJ extraordinaire and remix-master Cashmere Cat, the sultry horn play of Colorado’s Big Gigantic, plus one of LIB’s favorite residents often described as the World’s Funkiest Diplomat, The Polish Ambassador and many more, this year’s festival will host a plethora of immersive micro-environments situated amidst the beautifully-crafted mischievousness of Do LaB’s Lightning in a Bottle. This year’s myriad of sanctuaries will play host to the curious and curiouser intricacies of the notorious transformational gathering for trailblazers who decide to wander off the beaten festival path. Those who choose to explore the finer details of LIB may find themselves transported into the many weird and wonderful worlds nestled among the vast grounds of the festival, with each micro-environment brimming with uniquely exciting expansions, new offerings, and scintillating music.
In between the Temple of Consciousness and The Village, attendees can immerse themselves within the vintage portal of Grand Artique’s famed Frontierville, which will include the renovation of the Grand Artique’s Live Music Stage, now dubbed The Mission Stage. This stage will host music during all hours of the festival with a multifarious selection of the finest entertainers around including VKCE (Vokab Kompany x Crush Effect), Whilk & Misky, Dirtwire, Pimps of Joytime, NoMBe, and Jeremy Sole, who will take his audience on a sonic trip through the past, present and future of Roots music during a very special 11:00 am Sunday Revival.
Other immersive environments found in and around the grounds of Lightning in a Bottle range from the splendidly sensational to the mystically eccentric. Not far from the Grand Artique, explorers may find themselves at the Jive Joint, an interactive art installation designed to exude French Quarter vibes beaming with jazzy, funky and soulful tunes as well as comedic improv. Attendees can also enjoy one of the many shows at Amori’s Casino & Burlesque, a sexy, sensual, experience featuring live burlesque and cabaret, gaming, wandering characters, live bands, DJs and all manner of shenanigans. LIB’s Giggle Juice Cafe at the Lost Hotel will act as a unique oasis for the body and mind with a full-service restaurant, juice bar, and even an option for guests to become inhabitants of the hotel. Attendees have the option to purchase tickets to delicious and entertaining pop-up dinners at one of the festival’s three immersive locations. Other experiences to take advantage of at this year Lightning in a Bottle include The Traveling Spectacular, Transformation Station, Black Rock Observatory, Highlove Vitality Elixir Lounge, Playing Card Station & Oasis Rejuvenation Station, and Archival Ink by Fine Art Direct.
On top of LIB’s carefully crafted micro-environments and added immersive goodies outside of the music lineup, the Do LaB is offering attendees the chance to arrive a day early for those looking to maximize all that the festival has to offer via an Early Arrival Pass. The Early Arrival Pass comes with a plethora of extra experiences centered around opportunities to explore connections within the community before turning the music on for the full festival adventure, including the Cacao Ceremony, Temescal Lodge, Action Day, Village Life, Torn Between by Hoodie and Meditation Mountain by Nature Dreamweaver.
