Soccer fans are getting geared up, as the kick-offs for the UEFA Euro 2020 are coming up in June. For soccer fans who are also Martin Garrix fans, the excitement has doubled! Announced on his socials, Martin Garrix has teamed up with U2’s Bono and The Edge to create the competition’s official anthem. Set for release on May 14, the anthem is called ‘We Are The People‘.

The young DJ had written the music, and later invited the rock superstars to join him. The trio was also recently seen in London, where they were believed to have been shooting the music video.

Martin Garrix was already chosen as the Official Music Artist for the Euro 2020 back in October 2019. Back then, he had said that “it’s an incredible honour to be asked to create the official song for UEFA Euro 2020 and I am so excited to let everyone hear it.”

Music is my passion, but I’m also a huge football fan, so it’s extra special for me to be able to create the official song for what will be the biggest Euro in history.

The UEFA Euro 2020 had been postponed for a year due to the coronavirus pandemic. With virus-related conditions improving in the UK, the championship is set to kick off on June 11, with the final on July 11 at London’s Wembley Stadium.
