Madeon did nothing short of breaking the internet last week when he announced the upcoming release of his new track “You’re On,” and posted a short Instagram preview to accompany it. After much anticipation, the track debuted this morning on BBC Radio 1 and became available for purchase on iTunes. “You’re On” showcases a different side of Madeon, a side that strays away from his harder electro sound, instead opting for something along the lines of synth-pop. The song is still signature Madeon, featuring fun uplifting melodies tied together with the chopped up vocals of Kyan, a style similar to that in his track “The City.” The French powerhouse has shown his ability to cater to a multitude of styles, whether it be something harder like “Imperium,” or something more pop like he has done here. “You’re On,” is the second track to be taken from his debut album, Adventure, which is set to be released next year. With each exciting new track that Madeon releases, we can’t help but become more excited to see what he has in store for us in Adventure. But until the debut LP arrives, releases like “You’re On” will keep us at bay for the time being.
