Back in May, Steve Angello revealed his distaste for the current state of electronic music and his desire to do better. Angello’s comments indicated his passion to transcend the norm and produce something he can be truly proud of. This is especially pertinent with his upcoming album Wild Youth, which he bought out from Columbia Records to release independently and follow his vision. Last week, Angello released a preview to his long awaited single, ‘Children Of The Wild,’ which showcases the fruits of his labor. The track has been used to close out his sets for years now, featuring anthemic vocals that are perfectly designed to capture a festival crowd. Following up on this preview, Angello has now dropped a fantastic remix to Jean Michel Jarre and M83‘s ‘Glory.’
Angello’s version of ‘Glory’ begins slowly and hauntingly, as eerie, gradually building synths set a mysterious tone for the song. Anthony Gonzalez’s vocals are soon introduced, which soar over the minimalistic yet effective production. Angello then breathes life into the track, invigorating it with an atmospheric and futuristic drop that was tailor made to ignite dance floors. This song is further indication of Angello’s maturation as an artist, and it is only making us more excited for his album’s release.
