Skrillex launched his Full Flex Express tour yesterday, with plans to hit eight cities in the great nation of Canada over 12 days…by train. While the inspiration for Full Flex Express is said to be the legendary 1970 locomotive jam band Festival Express tour–a traveling festival featuring Janis Joplin, The Band, and the Grateful Dead–it’s fair to say that the train Skrillex and Diplo will be riding on will have a much more modern aesthetic.
Red Bull just released photos of the Full Flex Express studio, a 320 square foot train car converted into a fully functional Red Bull Studio featuring the latest in Novation and Native Instruments gear. Pioneer CDJs can also be seen in the pics. The interior design has a distinctive indigenous trans-American aesthetic, surely designed to inspire creativity among the traveling acts.
Check out the photos below, then head on over to Red Bull to see the rest. Be sure to hit up the Full Flex Express website to check dates and get tickets if you’re lucky enough to be on its path. The whistle-stop tour features Jack Ãœ, Zeds Dead, A$AP Ferg, Kiesza, Tycho, Hundred Waters, and Mija x Anna Lunoe.
